Updates on experimentation and preparation

Thanks again for all the product requests! I've gotten through a bunch of experiments, and I'm not sure what to do. I'll be thinking about it deeply in the coming days, but here are some conclusions:

1. Gan V100: This one didn't react very well. It feels different, but I don't like the feeling.
2. Weilong V11: This one's weird, it somehow feels faster and slower at the same time, and in a bad way. I think it's because the mezzoforte process seems to make primary plastic very slow. It's a unique feeling, and I'm positive that someone out there would like this feeling. It's just absolutely not for me. I'll have to get more opinions before I offer this for sale.
   
3. Weilong V11 SE (Black plastic): Black plastic just doesn't work well at all. Wasted three different V11 SE cubes and it's conclusive at this point.
4. RS3M v5: Whoa, this was interesting. This was actually the first cube I started experimenting with, but I've really refined the process since then. I've ordered another one, and I think this one will definitely be sold in different versions in August

So if you read my last blog entry, I was playing around with the idea of coating only the faces with the most friction. I've made 5 maglev v10s with this method, and a few other cubes just to test. So far, it makes the cubes noticeably different, but you can still feel the nature of the base cube, whereas full coating has a much greater change in the character of the turning. It was a decent experiment, but I'm not sure how much further I'll go with this concept. I think for some puzzles, it can be quite nice, and it's a good "medium" option for people who want something different, but not too different.

I'm still waiting on my next shipment of v10s, so stock will probably be updated in 2 weeks!

No updates on sq-1 until I get my Gan sq-1!
